Privacy, in plain English
Location stays on your device.
Matching happens on-device. We don't log where you walk, we don't share your location with third parties, and we don't sell it to advertisers. The only thing that leaves your phone is a notification that says "role X is nearby" — triggered by your phone, not by a server tracking you.
You can turn location off at any time in the app. When it's off, the rest of Matchie still works — you just won't get walk-past alerts.
Common questions
Does it drain my battery?
Matchie uses significant-change location (the same low-power mode your weather app uses), not GPS. Typical daily impact is under 2% of battery.
What if a company isn't hiring on Matchie yet?
We match against every public job ad we can see — LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, niche boards, and roles posted directly to Matchie. If the company is hiring anywhere, we know.
How close do I have to be?
Default range is around 100m from the company's address, which covers the building and the area right around it. You can tune this in the app if you want tighter or looser matching.
Does it work when I'm travelling?
Yes. Matchie on the Go works in every city we have job data for — which is everywhere we operate (all major cities globally). Walk past a company in Berlin, Tokyo, or Lagos and it works the same.
Can I turn it off for specific places?
Yes. Add any address to your "skip" list — your current employer, home, partner's office — and Matchie won't ping you there.
Is this included in my subscription?
Yes. Matchie on the Go is included in every plan (monthly, quarterly, student) at no extra cost. It's part of the base Matchie experience, not an add-on.
